One of our jobs at Atlanta Design Group is to follow the newest industry trends and pass them on to our Designer Clients. The hottest trend we have seen this year is performance fabric. Designing for families with children and pets can be a challenge for a Designer when trying to select upholstery. Often times getting durability means sacrificing style.

Today, companies like Crypton and Sunbrella have aimed to solve this problem with engineered fabrics that are meant to be fade and stain resistant. Not only are these fabrics durable, but they are also beautiful. Crypton, for example, has been able to replicate the same look of traditional fabrics so you no longer have to trade style for function.

Crypton has been making performance fabric for over 20 years and has set the standard for quality and durability. Crypton fabric is known for being waterproof and is used by some of the most well-known furniture manufacturers like Vanguard, Bernhardt, Universal, Century, Fairfield, Miles Talbot, and Lexington; all of which are available at Atlanta Design Group.

Sunbrella’s fade resistant solution-dyed acrylics makes a great outdoor fabric and is great for window treatments or furniture that gets a lot of sun. They have taken that same technology and engineered their own line of interior fabrics. Sunbrella has partnered with major manufacturers like Century Furniture and Miles Talbot.
