The great advantage of the letter of credit is the additional security that two contracting parties achieve in commercial transactions. By involving a bank, both the buyer has the security that the money will not be debited until all conditions are met. Likewise, the seller has the security that he will receive the money for his goods.

The disadvantages of a letter of credit are the increased administrative costs and the fees that the banks have to pay. The amount of the fees depends on the respective bank and is usually around three percent of the total amount of the documentary credit. It is possible for the buyer and seller to share the costs of the documentary credit. After all, both benefit from the additional security of their transaction.

The letter of credit in the retail trade for private individuals

Those who use online payment systems such as PayPal to shop on the Internet rely on a modified form of the documentary credit. In this case, you instruct PayPal to pay a merchant an amount in Exness. Possible types

In practice, different forms of documentary credits are agreed upon. These types are briefly presented below. They can be roughly differentiated with regard to their performance, the obligation and the conditions.

  •     Documentary/Commodity L/C: The most common form of documentary credit in foreign trade today is the Letter of Credit (L/C). In principle, this is an abstract promise of debt by a bank that is detached from the underlying transaction. The effect of the letter of credit is linked to both the presentation and the successful verification of the documents defined in the contract. The documentary letter of credit is also known as a goods letter of credit. In this case, the corresponding goods documents must be available so that the bank can disburse the money to the recipient.
  •     Confirmed and unconfirmed letters of credit: Letters of credit can additionally be confirmed by the exporter's bank. In this way, another security function is added. The confirming bank (exporter) can then help out with a payment if the opening bank cannot make a payment for certain reasons. Thus, both banks are liable for a confirmed letter of credit, whereas only the advising bank is liable for an unconfirmed one.
  •     Cash letter of credit: The cash letter of credit is a special form of letter of credit, as it is not bound by documents. Therefore, it is also called a smooth, open or simple letter of credit. Today, the letter of credit is rather rare. For a long time it was used for cashless, international payment transactions, for example when travelling. With a letter of credit, the bank pays out an amount of money to one customer and charges the amount to another customer. Today, international money transfers work similarly with providers such as Western Union.
  •     Forbearance letter of credit: This letter of credit includes a payment term. Otherwise, the same conditions apply as for a documentary credit. This means that corresponding documents must be available for successful payment.

Customer Pickups

Customers may pick up items Monday – Friday from 8:00AM until 3:30PM

Minimum 24-hour notice for customer pick-up.

$10/piece dock charge for pick-up by another carrier or customer pick-up.

TriMarc is not responsible for damages incurred due to improper loading or type of vehicle used.

Installation

If purchasing through ADG Interiors, a brand of Atlanta Design Group:

  • For all ADG Home orders over $5,000 receive one FREE hour of installation,
  • $15,000 receive two Free hours of installation
    The following terms apply:

    • The one hour cannot be split up.
    • Balance of invoice must be paid in full before TriMArc can schedule and install.
    • If client elects to pick up their ADG Home order instead of taking advantage of the installation, the customer pick-up will be FREE. For ADG Home orders under $5,000, there is a $10.00 pick-up fee for each piece or carton.
  • Free receiving will be provided:Upon receipt, we will open, inspect and blanket wrap each piece, remove cartons and await further instructions. A Receiving Report of the pieces received will be faxed or emailed to the client within eight business hours of receipt. We do this for non ADG Home items too.

Other Charges and Fees

  • Minimum Hours: One hour minimum per installation project

  • Trip Charge: $35 flat fee per trip within the metro Atlanta area
  • Out-of-State Installations: Please call us at (770) 447-9308 for a quote
  • Art Installations: When art is purchased from Patrick Allen Art, a Brand of ADG, the installation fee is reduced to $50/hour for a 1-man crew or $70/hour for a 2-man crew; otherwise, the standard hourly rates apply.
  • Cancellation Fee:A $100.00 cancellation fee per scheduled hour for installations, deliveries, or on-site pickups if cancelled within 36 BUSINESS hours of scheduled appointment.
  • Crating Fees: $75.00 per crate
