Points shared in black forest derbies: Calw and Unterhaugstett win home games

At the start of the Christmas break, the roles in the men's 1st Bundesliga South seem to be distributed. While TSV Pfungstadt is undefeated at the top of the table, TV Vaihingen/Enz and TV Käfertal are fighting for second place. TSV Calw and TV Unterhaugstett are in the waiting position. TV Augsburg, TV Waibstadt and TV Schweinfurt-Oberndorf are currently fighting to stay in the league.

Betting

A look at the games from last weekend. By the way, to follow all the games, you need online cricket betting apps download.

TV Augsburg - TV SW-Oberndorf 2:5 (11:5, 3:11, 7:11, 11:2, 4:11, 7:11, 3:11)

Very important points for TVO in front of the gates of Munich. After 2:2 in sets TVO could stabilize and brought 2 points back to Franconia.

TSV Pfungstadt - TV 1880 Käfertal 5:1 (8:11, 11:6, 11:6, 11:7, 11:4, 11:7)

In the first set, TVK presented itself in top form and could more than hold its own against TSV for a long time. Marcel Stoklasa hit as good as everything in the Pfungstädter hall and the TSV did not come into step. In the second set then, likewise rocket start of the Mannheimer those already with 1:4 led, and on the wave like into a rapture played. Then nothing more went on the part of the TVK's and one had to let the TSV pull clearly over long distances.

TSV Calw : TV Unterhaugstett 5:0 (11:5, 11:5, 11:5, 11:7, 11:6), TV Unterhaugstett : TSV Calw 5:1 (11:4, 11:7, 12:10, 11:3, 9:11, 11:8)

Last weekend, the Calw Lions showed two faces in the double derby against TV Unterhaugstett. On Saturday biting, aggressive, highly concentrated and successful in their own hall (5:0), the day after in Bad Liebenzell without a chance against the TVU, who now presented themselves very confident on their part and took revenge with a 5:1 over TSV Calw.

Hot atmosphere in the Walter-Lindner-Halle: The noise level was high and the Calw Lions "hot" for the first derby of this round. With a clear 5:0 (11:5, 11:5, 11:5, 11:7, 11:6) the TSV won its home match against TV Unterhaugstett and convinced all along the line. The two attackers Raphael Schlattinger and Nico Stoll, player Philipp Kübler as well as Heiko Bestle and Marco Stoll in the defense left absolutely nothing to be desired. On the other hand, Michael Ochner and Robin Gensheimer in the TVU attack lacked the necessary pressure to embarrass the Calw team. Raphael Schlattinger, who was played again and again, defended excellently. And Nico Stoll not only played the safe second attacker, he scored several times - also in blocking situations. Philipp Kübler scraped even difficult short balls off the hall floor and the defense did not slip a single ball over the arm.

One day later, the tide had turned completely in the direction of TVU. After leading 4:0, the home side was not impressed by TSV's interim set win and took revenge for the defeat in the first leg just one day later.

TV Vaihingen/Enz - TV Waibstadt 5:3 (8:11, 11:6, 11:8, 9:11, 7:11, 11:4, 11:3, 11:6)

The fact that Markus Knodel talks about points for staying in the class is - at least for this season - history. TV Vaihingen has not only clearly managed to stay in the class, but is spending the winter as second in the table and is even on course to take part in the German championship. On Saturday, the TVV fistballers recorded a 5:3 victory in their own hall against TV Waibstadt. The Vaihingen team gave away the first set, and after they had turned the result into a 2:1 set lead, they were suddenly behind again with 2:3. But from then on they didn't let anything go and showed their best game.

The beginning was a bit tough. Starting 0:5 into the game against the third-last team in the southern division was not what the hosts had expected. Knodel took a timeout. Johannes Jungclaussen scored a direct point from the service line to make it 1:5, but shortly afterwards it was 1:8 from Vaihingen's point of view. Only now, when it was almost too late, the hosts also managed points. "In the beginning, Jaro Jungclaussen didn't get a ball at all, even if he was still on it," analyzed the TVV coach. "But even from five indications we didn't manage a single point." Meanwhile, the guests from Waibstadt showed full focus and did not slip up - at least not in the opening phase. Vaihingen caught up to 4:8 and 5:10 before TV Waibstadt converted its fourth set point to win 11:8.

The fact that the Vaihingen team never gave up, even when they were seemingly hopelessly behind or had just lost a set, distinguished them once again on Saturday evening - as did the fact that they did not consistently keep up a good series over two or three sets. For TV Waibstadt, it was above all Maximilian Brandt who put the Vaihingen defense under pressure with his hard-hitting shots. Not only did he show a lot of power when hitting, but he also used the entire surface of the court that night. "Many balls went to the lines," Knodel said about the guests' recipe for success.

Johannes Jungclaussen, at first bat for TVV, also used the whole field, at times a bit more. In the second set, he hit the first shot just behind the line almost on the sideline - 1:0. The second shot was too long, but so powerful that Waibstadt's Kai Braun could no longer avoid it - 2:0. The set went safely to the hosts with 11:6. In the third set, they were also already clearly leading 7:3, but then TVV was suddenly only 7:6 ahead. After that, there was hardly any play left, because both sides used their details for direct points. Vaihingen swung the set home with 11:8.

Betting

After the first break, TVV did not find its way into the game at first. First the opponent scored, then Knodel took a timeout. Vaihingen turned a 1:5 deficit into 7:5, but then Waibstadt managed to score a point, while Johannes Jungclaussen hit three consecutive serves left into the out, into the line and right into the out. He still didn't take any power out, and the fourth one then hit the field for a direct point win. Nevertheless, Waibstadt won the set 11:9, and in the following set, the hosts also failed to capitalize on a 7:5 lead, losing 7:11. "That could have tipped the match," Knodel reported. "But we always come back even after such setbacks." And from then on, the Vaihingen team didn't let anything go. "Towards the end, we also hit the gaps the way we intended to".

Intermediate score

It would appear that the table is taking shape. Pfungstadt is in front of TV Vaihingen/Enz and TV Käfertal. For the second place it can be exciting, because both teams still have to play the return match against each other. In the no man's land of the table with 8:8 points are TSV Calw and TV Unterhaugstett, which are upwards only with theoretical chances and downwards already have four points distance.

Waibstadt was able to recover after two recent victories and pull the injury-ravaged TV Schweinfurt/Oberndorf into the danger zone. For TV Augsburg, the air is already very thin - the Fuggerstädter have another four points behind the non-relegation place.

This weekend, the European Indoor Cup will be held in Pfungstadt, with the host TSV and TV Käfertal taking part.
